The Beastie Boys have been forced to postpone the release of their new album Hot Sauce Committe PT1 and their tour plans due to illness. Adam Yauch of the band has annouced via video on the band’s website, that he has a tumour in a salivary gland. Yauch, better known as MCA, said he felt a lump in his throat while on a promo trip to Europe. Upon his return to the U.S. he went to see his doctor, who sent him for tests.
“He sent me to a specialist and they did tests and I actually have a form of cancer in the parotid gland and a lymph node,” Yauch said.
“I am going to have to have surgery next week and then after that have some radiation localized in that area.”
Get well soon Adam, we can’t wait to hear the new album!
In the mean time, here’s the new single ‘Too Many Rappers’.
